For out of town guests traveling via airplane, the following airports are recommended. 

Jacksonville, North Carolina Airport (30 minutes from Swansboro)

New Bern, North Carolina Airport (30 minutes from Swansboro)

Wilmington, North Carolina Airport (1 hour and 30 minutes from Swansboro)

Head to the historic downtown Swansboro, where you can spend hours hunting for treasures at the unique antique stores, boutiques and shops.  Love to golf? There are three excellent golf courses nearby: Bogue Banks, Star Hill Country Club and Silver Creek Golf Club.

1. Hammocks Beach State Park - Venture to Bear Island and reward yourself with vivid memories of one of the most unspoiled beaches on the Atlantic coast. Accessible by passenger ferry! Also, be sure to check out Emerald Isle for additional beach access. 

2. Ice House Resturant - serves fresh local seafood with a waterview located in historic downtown Swansboro.

3. Boro Cafe and Bakery - this little gem holds a special place in our hearts. We enjoyed going for dinner when they served tapas. Located in downtown Swansboro.

4. Church Street Deli - located in downtown Swansboro, this resurtant is another one of our favorites when looking for a quick bite to eat. They specialize in sandwiches, boars head hotdogs, and homemade desserts.

5. Harrika's Brew Haus - located 5 minutes from Swansboro, in Cedar Point North Carolina. Harrika’s Brew Haus has the largest selection of beer in Eastern North Carolina with 800 bottles and a beer bar to top! Teas and coffee, too. This was our favorite place to grab a beer and listen to live music. They also have a food truck for those that are hungry - we recommend the 'detox fries' and 'Harry's Hashwich.' For wine enthusiasts, be sure to walk next door to Christina's Wine Boutique.
