The proposal could not have been pulled off without the help of many individuals. I decided to propose on the top of a hill called Catherine Hill. This hill was special for many reasons. She grew up playing hide and seek with her family there, she took me up there when we first started dating and shared with me that after her grandpa passed she spent time there praying. Another big reason it was so special is becasue she spent so much time up there praying for us when we first started dating. For these reasons I felt like it was the perfect place to propose.

The Day itself was a little hectic. You see I was supposed to be in Wichita, KS visiting friends (one of the many lies I told Anna during this process) however, I was in Hays trying to be incognito with my parents and my nieces (nieces were a surprise). I was so nervous that Anna would be driving around and see us, so we just went to the pool at FHSU. 

When the time came for me to go out to the hill I was so nervous. I was just hoping that the plan that Emily (her twin) and I came up with to hide my truck was going to work. I made sure I got out there an hour before they were supposed to be there. I wanted to make sure I went over the plan, hid my truck as best as I could and pray over us starting our new life together (if she said yes). 

The plan was for Jade (her sister-in-law) and Emily to go search for some boxes they hid out on the hill 11 years ago and just have some girl time. The closer the time came for them to make their way out to the hill the more nervous I got. When I could finally hear them coming on the ranger my heart rate was through the roof (I have the video to prove it). I waited until I could see them no more and took off across the field. I began running up the hill to make sure I was there hiding before they made it to the top of the hill. Once I got in place I could hear them coming up the hill, at this point I could barely stand becasue knees were shaking so bad. I waited for about 10 minutes so they could get comfortable and then I started walking towards them. Once Anna saw me she had the biggest smile on her face. She came walking toward me saying, "what are you doing here, I thought you were in Wichita." I walked up to her gave her a hug and told her that I had a question to ask her. (the whole time Emily is recording and Jade is taking pictures). I got down on one knee and asked her if she would marry me, she said Yes then jumped up in the air with excitement. Jade and Emily headed out so Anna and I could spend some time alone up on the hill as a newly engaged couple. We didn't stay all that long because it was a little chilly. We then went to her parents house and had a toast with her family and my parents and nieces.
