Corey and I met in August of 2003. Of all the places to meet, we met at a night club called Prizm. My best friend Candace pointed him out and I was very interested. We made eye contact and he kept checking me out for about fifteen minutes or so. After seeing that he was not going to approach me, I had to work up the nerve to approach him. After a pep talk from my girls, I walked over to him and introduce myself.  He was intrigued and asked me to dance.  We danced and exchanged phone numbers after.

Being the gentleman that Corey is, he called me the next day and we talked for a while and he asked me out for a date. Three days later we went out on our first date. After that it was history. We would talk on the phone for hours, go on dates and just try to get to know one another better. With both of us coming from bad passed relationships and me being a single mom of two we both agreed to take things slow, date and see where it takes us.

After dating for a few months, things started to get more and more serious. In January 2004 we agreed that it was time for Corey and the girls to meet each other. That is a day I will never forget. Seeing him with Desi and Kayla brought joy to my heart. I knew he was the one.

We were official and spent more time together and growing as a family. We took it a step further and moved in together in 2006. We were a family and for once in my life I was truly happy.

After talking about our future and our relationship together, we decided to add to our family. On October 13, 2007, Corey’s birthday we decided that was the day. On November 17, 2007 it was made official that we would be adding another baby to our family. Corey, the girls and I were really excited. Of course we were both nervous and scared as well. On July 15, 2008 our Little Jaidyn Elizabeth was born and our family was now complete and things were looking great and life was good.

On October 18, 2015 we went out to celebrate what I thought was Corey’s 35^th birthday. I was in for wonderful surprise. In front of our awesome friends and a restaurant full of strangers he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! I was really surprised and completely overjoyed.

             We have been through a lot together and it has not always been easy. Life has dealt us some pretty heavy cards, but together we always fight through it. Corey and I have an amazing relationship because, we don’t play by anyone else’s rules. We have two of the most important things that you can have in a relationship, that’s trust and unconditional love. That is how we have been able to maintain such a strong bond of love and friendship. With God, Desiree, Kayla, Jaidyn and our family and friends on our side we have everything we need. On October 1, 2016 we will officially be husband and wife. Love really does concur all.
